Melissa Pace is an award-winning horticulturist\, who has competed in flower shows nationwide – from the Philadelphia Flower Show to specialized cacti and succulent showcases. A University of Rhode Island Master Gardener since 2003\, she is also a member of the Cactus and Succulent Society of Massachusetts. Melissa is a teacher and horticulture enthusiast\nat Massachusetts Horticultural Society.

DESCRIPTION:Join us for a visit to one of Harvard’s most famous treasures\, the Ware Collection of Blaschka Glass Models of Plants\, better known as the Glass Flowers. From 1886 to 1936\, Leopold Blaschka and his son Rudolf produced 4\,300 astonishingly realistic glass models representing 780 plant species. He will also discuss a range of winter protection strategies. Mal has held the positions of president and vice president of The Cape Cod Hydrangea Society. He and his wife are former co-owners of Hydrangea Farm Nursery on Nantucket.\nA lifelong gardener and trained engineer\, Mal brings a technical and investigative eye to the plant. ‘The Hydrangea Guy’ is a well-known presenter to gardening audiences in hydrangea-centric locations.

She has spent years working with plants\, trees and shrubs in different capacities and shares her passion for horticulture through the training she provides to both homeowners and green industry professionals. Jen has worked with Safdie Architects and The Trustees’ public gardens\, and she has been a guest lecturer for the Massachusetts Horticultural Society\, the Arnold Arboretum\, and the International Society of Arboriculture.
