The Art and Science of Mushrooming

Tyler Akabane has been supplying area restaurants with mushrooms for more than a decade.  He opened The Mushroom Shop in May 2022 and sells foraged and cultivated culinary mushrooms alongside books, gifts and food products. Tyler is interested in and will discuss the cultural and social aspects of mushroom hunting, what you can find locally in your yard woods, and – as Tyler put it – “the whole wild world living in the soil”. He currently serves on the Executive Committee of the Boston Mycological Society.
