Kristen and Britt started Blue Stem Natives in 2021. They met at a Wild Ones meeting, growing plants for the Club’s plant sale. Then and there they decided they needed to start a native-only nursery. Their mission is to help everyone create wildlife-friendly green spaces. They strive to produce and provide high-demand native plants for the New England region, using local ecotypic seed when possible. They specialize in growing native plants from seed to encourage genetic diversity and grow only straight-species – no ‘cultivars.
